Education at UCA
Fast Forward emerged out of the photography department at University for the Creative Arts in Farnham. The project reflects the critical approaches to thinking about and researching photography in the department and complements the range of other research interests in the School of Fine Art and Photography at the university.
PhD Study
The PhD qualification offer at UCA constitutes either a traditional research degree consisting of an original written thesis or for those in practice-based areas, an original written thesis and additional creative work. The nature of the PhD in Art and Design at UCA is that the project is explicitly student led, and arises primarily from a student’s ambitions and aspirations. Each student works with two supervisors for either three years’ full time or six years’ part time to develop their project and an understanding of its context in the wider fields of photography.
