BA (Hons) Photography at our Farnham campus focuses on exploring a mixture of photographic practices through a range of contemporary and historical contexts. The course offers the opportunity to study and experiment with both analogue and digital photography and their related theories and histories within a uniquely creative environment. Our darkrooms and studios boast high quality cutting edge equipment and students can resolve their projects in either exhibition or publication form. The teaching methods include, tutorials, workshops, reviews, seminars, lectures and field visits and students are encouraged to develop valuable skills for their future employment

With cutting-edge professional photography facilities include studios, digital workshop suites, colour and black and white film processing, colour and black and white darkrooms, and industry-leading equipment available for loan throughout the academic year. Students work on a mixture of industry-facing project briefs, developing strong links with practitioners at multiple levels, portfolio reviews, high-profile guest lecturers, studio visits, and a notable series of course publications and annual exhibitions.
BA (Hons) Fashion Photography at the Rochester campus encourages students to learn, think, and create within the widest possible definition of fashion photography. Students are encouraged to establish a sustainable photographic practice in the creative industries, graduating with experience and practical business knowledge alongside advanced technological skills. We have a professional environment encouraging independent learning and approaches both experimental and savvy to the working of the industry. Fashion photography has developed from a way of selling clothes to a dream-work of narratives that can trouble as well as inspire, generating desire and shock alike. This course offers ways to approach fashion photography that enable understanding of and navigation through this complex form of image making.
