The Centre for Visual Arts at City College is an Outstanding Department and is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and innovative specialist lecturer of Photography to join the team and to course lead the UAL Foundation Diploma in Photography (Post A Level) and the UAL Extended Diploma in Photography (Year Two).
The Course Leader would be responsible for co-ordinating the UAL Foundation Diploma in Photography (Post A Level) and the UAL Extended Diploma in Photography (Year Two).
This post requires a talented, enthusiastic, flexible and forward thinking individual with proven experience of delivering outstanding teaching and learning who is highly committed to working with, motivating and inspiring Level 3/4 learners to achieve at the highest level.
The role will involve working collaboratively with the Curriculum Lead for Creative Art and Photography to manage all aspects of the the Foundation Diploma and the Extended Diploma in Photography courses from recruitment through to final achievement. This will include developing and delivering induction, teaching and tutorial programmes; managing the learning, assessment and achievement process, and completing the College’s quality assurance processes.
You will teach across the Photography courses, and also may be required to contribute to the teaching on other courses within the Visual Arts Department when necessary, these course range from Level 1 to Level 4.
You will also be Personal Tutor to a cohort of learners, delivering the pastoral and tutorial programme and guiding and advising learners on appropriate career progression.
Educated to degree level in a Photography related subject, the successful candidate will be required to hold a recognised teaching qualification and will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and excellent IT and administrative skills. They will have previous teaching experience of working with both 16-19 and 19+ age range, a proven track record of delivering outstanding teaching and learning, and experience of setting, achieving and reviewing targets for learners. Experience of delivering the the UAL Foundation Diploma in Photography (Post A Level) and the UAL Extended Diploma in Photography (Year Two) specifications, and assessing Level 3 / 4 units would be desirable for this post.
