Yale-NUS College (www.yale-nus.edu.sg) in Singapore, a collaboration between the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Yale University, seeks to hire a Visual Artist, specialty and rank open. The faculty member will supervise curricular and extra-curricular activities in the visual arts, teach courses in his or her field of expertise, and co-ordinate offerings by visiting artists. Candidates should hold the requisite terminal degree. Depending on the expertise, experience and level of administrative experience, the position will be placed either on the tenure track, or the practice track (renewable fixed-period contract). Administrative experience in coordinating arts activities is a desirable qualification.
The College would like to appoint an outstanding teacher, who is committed to innovative pedagogy and curriculum development and to closely mentoring students, as well as an active artist, whose work will benefit from and contribute to a vibrant intellectual community fostered by an interdisciplinary common curriculum in the liberal arts. Increasingly, Singapore is the site of an emerging international arts scene, and in the arts, as in many other endeavors, it is a gateway to the rest of Asia. At the College there is a great interest in the arts among students, and the position brings with it the opportunity to provide leadership in managing the arts within and outside the academic curriculum.

Review of applications will begin January 13, 2017, and interviews will be held at the College Art Association annual meeting in New York, February. 15-18 or by Skype. Finalists will be brought to Singapore for campus visit. The position begins August 2017.
