Would you like to like to work alongside other like-minded photographers and get advice from industry mentors who know what it takes to take your work to the next level? Have you always dreamed of showing your work at a major arts festival?

If you are telling yourself yes to all the above you best get your skates on because there are just two days left to apply for Lightbox – Redeye’s course for emerging photographers, curators and producers.

We’ve had a couple of recurring questions come through in the past few days about Lightbox that we thought we would share in case you have been thinking the same thing.

A few people have said they are worried about the cost. Don’t forget we offer you option to break down the cost through manageable direct debits and you can apply for a bursary to support your application. Bursary places are awarded in the form of a reduced price to attend the course and to anyone with an individual annual income less than £22,000. For more information, you can download the bursary form here

Are you worried about the time commitment? We understand you will have other work and family commitments and whilst we have set out a selection of provisional weekend dates for the initial workshops, we encourage you to tell us what works for you. In the past groups have met during the week and evenings and typically commit on average one day a week or so for the duration of the course.

If you know there are specific dates you will struggle to make just let us know in the application form. For more information about the application process, payments or specifics about the course, check out our handy FAQs section at the bottom of the website.

So how do you apply?

Follow these steps:

  • Visit the website here for all the information you need about the course and what’s involved.
  • Send 6 of your best images and your application forms in an email marked Lightbox 2017-18 Application in the subject box to no later than 9 am on Monday 3rd July 2017.

This year the course is also open to Curators and Producers – if this is you, no need to send us photography, however, we would like to see some examples of your written work and past projects in the application form.
