Leeds Arts University is now recognised as the only specialist arts university in the North of England. We have contributed significantly to the development of arts education for over 170 years, and have developed a national and international reputation based on the achievements of our students and staff. Leeds Arts University has been formally recognised as the new title for Leeds College of Art, after being granted full university status by the Privy Council.
The Research Fellowship supports the Head of Research in further developing our practice-based research culture through contributing to the research activity within the University and conducting high-quality relevant practice-based research in a media or popular music, art or design discipline.
This is an exciting opportunity for an early career researcher to join us undertaking post-doctoral practice-based research. This research may be on a topic essentially of the researcher’s own choice subject to approval by the University.
The main focus of the role is to engage full-time in practice-based research and its dissemination (including peer-reviewed performing or publication). The role is encouraged to engage fully in the life and activities of the University but is not required to contribute to teaching.
The position is only open to candidates who have completed PhD study. Candidates with scheduled viva’s are eligible for application but must provide a letter of support from their Principal Supervisor.
The successful candidate will have research experience in a relevant subject area, including the production of relevant outputs and possess excellent communication skills.
