ABOUT US
London Metropolitan University is committed to making education available to people from all walks of life and plays an important role in society and our local community. We offer a diverse range of courses across a range of disciplines in three locations across London.

ABOUT THE POST
BA Photography is a key course at the Sir John Cass School of Art, Architecture and Design, London Metropolitan University. We offer photography students a new and exciting atelier-style model of study in mixed-level themed studio groups with a famous hands-on approach from tutors and lots of teaching contact. There is a strong focus on professional practice and work-related learning. Each year all Photography tutors get the chance to bid to lead their own studio or project workshops for an academic year. Photography tutors work in a close-knit team on a mission to provide a course of first choice, transforming lives for a diverse range of students from London, the UK and around the world. With a spacious new home and excellent resources in its digital media, shoot studios, cameras, dark room, scanning and print facilities, BA Photography at the Cass teaches to standards that see its graduates move directly to make a good living from photography, art or design or on to postgraduate study. Those are our objectives.

This is an opportunity to forge an excellent reputation in Photography teaching for years to come, the next step in a great career in Higher Education. We seek to employ a highly-motivated, ambitious, energised and connected learning and teaching innovator, someone expected to take on the role of Course Leader; who will establish and maintain a strong, positive brand and identity for the course; devise new learning opportunities for photography students and create new relationships with external partners and employers. The successful candidate for this post will have at least 3 years’ teaching experience at undergraduate level as a full-timer or fractional in Photography; be able to demonstrate track record in work-related learning and work placements and be fully up to speed with TEF metrics and the levers at work in university subject league tables, including NSS. They will also have the people skills, leadership, project management, communication and digital skills to implement University requirements over research, course and module administration, assessment and feedback and to work with colleagues in an agile, timely and proactive way.
