Jiang Feiran’s practice is often restored as an ongoing process of exploration, reflection, and

research on her own life experiences. Her early experimental film shorts focus on the difference between perceptions of others toward oneself and one’s self-awareness. Since 2012, she began to search the possibility of addressing female’s identities and power relationships within a family by expanding her narrative with metaphorical staged photography and moving images. In her current project Marriage Scenes, Jiang uses marriage as her motif to continue her quest of the hard agreement with one’s destiny, in this case, to explore the parallel lines of women’s unremitting struggle and their Sisyphean fate. The images below are titled: King Bedroom and Partners.
