As it is is simply about life as it is. The Japanese photographer Rinko Kawauchi selects a delicate, intimate series of photographs taken with a focus on her personal universe, by which we also understand all those small things in life that move her; a blue sky, a shimmering river, her three-year-old daughter, which becomes evocative or the sense through the images of rediscovering little things about the world, as if seen for the first time, as perhaps Kawauchi imagines her daughter doing. Characteristic of her work, the air is magical. The emphasis on nature is always from an unusual angle or focal point that leads the eye to a new imagining of the thing in frame. Quiet, thoughtfully reflective of this self-reflecting time.
