Nordic Artist Centre Dale (NKD) is now accepting applications for its Artist-in-Residence programme for 2027.
Residencies are offered for periods of 2–4 months and are open to professional artists, designers, and architects. Students (full-time in 2027) are not eligible to apply.
Nordic Artist Centre Dale (NKD) is an Artist-in-Residence centre funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Culture and Equality, located in the village of Dale on the west coast of Norway. As an independent foundation, NKD supports long-term residencies, professional development, and artistic research for visual artists, architects, and designers.
Rooted in a Nordic context, the residency programme strengthens collaboration within art, architecture, and design across the region, while also extending these exchanges internationally by engaging practitioners from around the world. NKD fosters dialogue across disciplines, perspectives, and working methods, creating a space where new ideas can emerge through both focused individual practice and shared experience.
Each resident is provided with a private house and a spacious studio (approx. 50 m²), as well as access to shared facilities including a common studio and a well-equipped carpentry workshop. NKD provides a monthly grant of NOK 11,000 and covers travel expenses up to NOK 5,000.
