MUUS Collection, which represents the archives of 20th-century American photographers including Rosalind Fox Solomon, Deborah Turbeville and more, is launching a new Research Fellowship, comprising a $20,000 grant awarded to a curator or academic.
The grant will allow the fellow to spend time in the MUUS Collection’s archives in New Jersey (USA) and use the new MUUSEUM Research Portal to develop an exhibition or publication concept based on works within the collections. The fellow will also benefit from mentorship sessions with the advisory board.
The MUUS Collection includes the Semple Portfolio of Notable American Women, an invaluable time capsule of signed letters and photographs of prominent women in the United States in the early twentieth century, assembled in the 1920s by American publisher and author James Alexander Semple. The portfolio includes over 500 portraits and related material.
The grant will run from November 2026–November 2027. To find out more and apply please go to the direct link.
