Join Dr Tilly Scantlebury art historian and educator, National Gallery, London, as they look closely at a selection of works on display in the exhibition Catherine Opie: To Be Seen.

In this talk Scantlebury situates Opie’s photographic portraits within two important contextual modes: the traditional art historical paintings they make reference to, and the contemporary LGBTQ+ American culture they visualise.

To meet demand, as well as the in person event, National Galleries Scotland are offering an online live stream of the event.
