The exhibition Feminist Futures Forever brings together 237 artists from different generations. At its
core is the plurality of their artistic practices. Feminist demands, their sociopolitical impacts, and diverse temporalities become linked. Each concern critically engages with its respective history and present, but also addresses the conditions of an imagined future. Feminist Futures Forever follows this principle of looking both backward and forward at the same time. Taking a cue from the 1985 exhibition Kunst mit Eigen-Sinn, it brings international, intersectional, and inter-generational perspectives into dialogue.
The artworks reflect the diversity of feminist perspectives and demonstrate that there is neither a single
feminism nor a uniform feminist aesthetic. Questions of gender, the body, labor, desire, memory, and
social participation are explored from a variety of angles. Dorit Margreiter Choy and Cosma Grosser
extend this line of thought through the exhibition architecture they have developed: Committed to the
spirit of feminist spatial production, they approach both the building and the institution as dynamic
structures.
