WOPHA, in collaboration with 1854 Media and British Journal of Photography, presents the winners of the Female in Focus award, launched in 2019 in response to the staggering gender imbalance in photography. The exhibition will take place in Miami for the first time at the new Green Space Miami and in UK later this year. It is part of a program of city-wide photography exhibitions, artist residencies, and studio visits held in tandem with the WOPHA Congress in partnership with leading Miami-based and international arts and photography organizations.
The WOPHA Congress invites women photography organizations from around the world to participate alongside acclaimed art historians, curators, and preeminent women photographers on the topics of women, photography, and feminisms. It provides recognition, professional opportunities and fosters collaboration while establishing Miami as a center for modern and contemporary photography.
