In Conversation: Melanie Manchot / Kenton Cool / Fatoş Üstek at the Wax Building, London

As part of a pause, a rose, something on paper, a group exhibition of work by 17 artists, Melanie Manchot will be In Conversation with mountaineer Kenton Cool, moderated by curator Fatoş Üstek at The Wax Building on 24 June.

The discussion will start with Manchot’s new work recently made at the Himalayan Mount Makalu, the world’s fifth highest peak, where her late brother perished exactly 50 years ago while climbing to its summit. Manchot was there to start filming for One Day as a Tiger, her feature film in early production.

Kenton Cool in one of the most accomplished mountaineers in the world and has just returned from summiting Everest (Sagamartha) for a record 20th time (for any non-Sherpa).

Fatoş Üstek is an independent curator and writer with over two decades of international experience in contemporary art, known for her work across exhibitions, biennials, public art commissions and institutional initiatives.
