A MANIFESTO FOR PHOTOGRAPHY

The collective #LaPartdesFemmes, committed to support both the visibility and recognition of female photographers, will unveil their Manifesto for Photography initiated by Marie Docher on 8th November during PARIS PHOTO 2018, the largest international art faire dedicated to photography.

Shortly after the publication of our open letter to the director of the Rencontres d’Arles that gathered over 500 signatures, the collective #LaPartdesFemmes was invited to take part in ‘Women, The Exception?’, a public programme conceived by Fannie Escoulen for PARIS PHOTO 2018.

On this occasion, using the format of a lecture-performance, the ‘Manifesto for Photography’ will be staged in collaboration with many guest photographers, reflecting the wide diversity of contemporary photography.

We call on all heads of institutions, festivals, publishing houses, galleries: refuse to be a cog in the discriminatory machine; instead become an actors of new developments in photography! Love photography as much as we love it, we, women who are continuing despite our lack of visibility.

We look forward to seeing you there!
