Landscape, flora and fauna have inspired photographers since the camera’s earliest days. Contemporary artists continue to experiment with the format of the book to adapt to the pressing challenges of our environment today.
Their work reflects an ongoing transformation in how humans understand and impact the natural world. These books are diverse in subject, geography and form but share a common thread of collaborative practice, curiosity and reverence of our natural world.
Nature Study: Ecology and the Contemporary Photobook is on show in the The Kusuma Gallery in the Photography Centre.
