The Gala Awards and the Biennial of Fine Art and Documentary Photography announces a Call for Entries to women photographers worldwide, to be selected for exhibition at the 4th edition of the Biennial of Fine Art & Documentary Photography (Berlin Foto Biennale 2016,) which will be held next October at the awesome venue of the Palazzo Italia located in downtown Berlin. The Berlin Foto Biennale is an Associate Partner of the European Month of Photography Award: Three women photographers will be selected as awardees of the 9th Julia Margaret Cameron Award, and invited to exhibit at the Biennial. This will be the last chance to be selected as exhibitor of the Berlin Foto Biennale, and be part of the European Month of Photography, exhibiting in the same venue where, as a Special Guest, Magnum’s Steve McCurry will be showcasing 130 works of his Retrospective. Catalogue: Awarded images will be published in the Biennial’s catalogue published by Kehrer Verlag, Heidelberg, Germany. Eligibility: Open to all women photographers 18 years old or older, professional and amateur, from any country of the world. Submission Deadline: July 18, 2016 (Midnight EST.) Curator Selection: Images will be preselected by the curators’ team of The Gala Awards, chaired by Julio Hirsch-Hardy. Juror: Final selection of the awardees, among the short list selected by the curators of The Gala Awards, will be done by Juror Andréa Holzherr, Curator (Ecole du Louvre / Sorbonne,) Director of Global Exhibitions of Magnum Photos. Artist Notification: September 5, 2016 (results will be emailed to all participants by email.)
