Associate Professor – Photography

London South Bank University are looking to appoint a highly motivated individual as Associate Professor who is able to contribute to research leadership and innovative teaching, consulting, income generation and international collaborations in the areas of expanded photographic practices, online media and contemporary curating in a school with a young and vibrant research community and innovative teaching programmes.

This is an exciting position coming at a time of exceptional and accelerated cultural developments in art, media and technology, which are radically reconfiguring the position and value of the visual image. Hard disciplinary boundaries are dissolving, creating innovative and hybrid approaches across the fields of image invention, reproduction, circulation, collection and curating. London South Bank University are seeking candidates who have a strong grasp of contemporary issues and whose own research and practice is making a notable contribution to new combinations and fields.

The post will combine teaching photographic related modules at BA and MA levels and contribute to the further development and assessment of the School’s research activities. The person appointed will take a leading role in The Centre for the Study of the Networked Image, supervise PhD students, run post graduate seminars, including the CSNI summer school, create new external collaborations and develop research funding strategies.
