The Institute of Photography at Falmouth University, in partnership with the Sustainable Darkroom, are pleased to announce a conference in July 2025 on the theme of (un)sustainable photography.
As we navigate the world of accelerating climate change and collapsing natural systems, we must continue to ask the question:
“How do those involved in photography think about their role and their practice?”
This event will bring together those who practice photography, those who teach photography, and those who care about photography. Through presentations, discussions, and workshops, participants will engage in listening, sharing, and a range of practical activities.
INVITATION FOR PRESENTATION PROPOSALS
We invite proposals for 15-minute presentations. Contributions can take the format of indoor or outdoor presentations such as papers, workshops, performances, multimodal presentations, and co-designed experiments. Proposals can explore the question from any perspective:
· Analogue or digital
· Theoretical or practical
· Past, present or future
There will be space to exhibit a limited number of relevant works. If your presentation proposal includes your own photographic or visual imagery, please include this information on the proposal form.
