Filmmaker/video artist/projection artist, Witness Theatre

Witness Theatre are looking for a filmmaker/video/projection artist to collaborate on a project we have in development looking at our society’s relationship with death.
The project is a piece of new writing currently in first draft stage and we are looking to carry out research and development to further develop it. At present video is an integral part of the text, and we are interested in exploring this more and considering the relationship between different filmic mediums and mortality.
Mediums we’re particularly interested in playing with are projected live feed, overhead projection and celluloid. The aim of the research and development process will be to discover how we want to use film in this piece and what role it will have in shaping the narrative.
We do not have dates for the development as we want to find the right collaborator first, so dates can be worked around your schedule. We have applied to BAC Freshly Scratched which, if successful, would mean a short scratch performance in early July.
We’re looking for someone who has experience working in theatre, and enjoys working in a highly collaborative way. If you are interested in the project please get in touch to let us know about yourself and your experience, and we can arrange to chat further.
It is our aim for all creatives working on this process to be paid National Minimum Wage, but this is subject to securing funding.
