Flux Rotherham Creative Exchange- Artists in Residence Opportunity

Flux Rotherham is a Creative People and Places Programme funded by Arts Council. Creative People and Places (CPP) is about more people choosing, creating, and taking part in brilliant art experiences in the places where they live. There are 33 independent CPP projects based in areas where there are fewer opportunities to get involved with the arts.

In Rotherham, they are at the start of this exciting journey and as part of the programme, are looking to create a series of 4 artist residency programmes. These residencies will be the first engagement activities delivered through Flux Rotherham and will be focussed on responding to ideas and creative themes emerging in communities.

They are inviting artists to work with on developing and exploring new and innovative ways of working with and empowering community members and groups.

They are seeking innovative, experimental artists to work with to explore creative ambitions and cultural identity.

Their priority is to foster lasting interest in creativity and awareness of unfamiliar practices; to nurture active participation in creative practice as a means of understanding and reflecting upon people’s lived experience.

Rather than being prescriptive about this process, they are looking for artists who want to work in a truly exploratory manner, expanding their understanding in how to unlock the potential of audiences, contributing to the growth of a sustainable and meaningful local creative ecology.
