FREELANCE ARTIST EDUCATOR – Autograph ABP

Freelance Artist Educator
11 Saturdays in total, April 2019 – March 2020

Workshops will be held for 2 hours on each Saturday
Accountable to: Public Programme Manager
Fee: £2750 (£250 / day for 11 days, which includes workshop planning and delivery time)

Autograph’s mission is to enable the public to explore identity, representation, human rights and social justice through work produced by artists who use photography and film. We hold exhibitions and deliver learning activities at our gallery in Shoreditch, London.

We are embarking on a new programme of workshops to enable children with SEND and their families to participate in monthly creative activities at Autograph. The role of the Artist Educator will be to lead on devising and delivering these workshops in collaboration with the Public Programme Managers at Autograph.

The ideal candidate will have experience of devising and leading creative learning workshops for children with SEND. We are looking for someone who has high quality creative ideas, and can design a different workshop each month. Workshops could incorporate creative activities such as music, visual art, photography or other mediums. Our photographic exhibitions and archive can be used for inspiration for workshops but this is not essential.

As this is an entirely new programme it is uncertain how many families would be involved in each session, but we know it won’t be more than ten families. Our Public Programme Managers will support workshop sessions, and will manage all group bookings and logistics. There is a budget for materials.

All workshops will take place at Autograph, Rivington Place, London, EC2A 3BA.

The successful applicant will be required to have an Enhanced DBS Check through Autograph.
