International Summer School of Photography (ISSP) in Latvia extended applications deadline to a special ISSP 2018 workshop with an independent curator from Barcelona Natasha Christia “Curating Photography: a Laboratory of Ideas, Projects and Practices”. The workshop is a part of International Summer School of Photography 2018 (28 July – 5 August in Kuldīga) giving the participants opportunity to meet colleagues from all over the world.
Applications for this workshop will be accepted until 15 April.
“For whom do we curate photography exhibitions? What is our role as producers/curators of content? How do we unfold a story/concept on the wall and in space? The program will encompass these and other questions from theory to practice of curating image-based shows. Through lectures, group discussions and an analysis of the case studies, the workshop will result in the development of individual curatorial proposals brought in by the participants; they will also gain a valuable hands-on experience helping other participants and resident artists to prepare for the final ISSP exhibition.”
