Job at UCA: Technical Tutor in Digital Photography

Location: University for the Creative Arts, Farnham campus

Salary: £29,605 to £32,982 per annum pro rata, part-time 21,75 hours per week

We are looking to appoint a Technical Tutor to support the photographic activities of our lens-based courses with an emphasis on BA and MFA Photography. This post predominantly supports learners working within our dedicated digital imaging suite containing iMacs, Adobe software, negative scanners, and photographic printing. The post holder will also teach and support camera usage and studio practices while providing ad-hoc cover to the analogue photographic areas.

You will have excellent knowledge and familiarity with a range of camera formats, strong IT troubleshooting skills and professional level experience of using Lightroom, Photoshop and InDesign as a minimum.  You will also be required to compile learning materials and deliver technical workshops and tuition in a range of photographic areas.

You will contribute to the care and day-to-day operation of the photographic facilities including the management and maintenance of specialist equipment and ensuring that the safety of our learners is always maintained.

You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to problem solve and apply initiative. Whilst working under pressure, you will be able to demonstrate a positive and flexible approach when working with students and staff. The ability to work as part of a team is essential.

The actual salary for this role is £17,763 – £19,789 per annum.
