July 2023 features commissions – call for submissions of interest

In 2023 Photomonitor is delighted to announce a new partnership with the Photography Department and bookRoom at the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham, where a team of academic creatives are now ‘in residence’ at Photomonitor. As part of this residency, we will be commissioning new online features in addition to offering opportunities to emerging photography voices.

Since 2011,  Photomonitor has supported photography and lens-based media, publishing images and texts from artists and writers around the world on our online platform. Founding editor Christiane Monarchi has enjoyed commissioning new thoughts on photography and promoting artists and writers in all stages of their careers. The online archive now includes more than 1,400 features, published between 2011 and 2022, including portfolios, exhibition and book reviews, essays and interviews with artists working in the UK and internationally.

We now invite artists and writers interested in featuring on Photomonitor to contact the expanded editorial team, and we look forward to telling you more about our upcoming issues, offsite projects and events. Please do visit the Contact page to join our mailing list and follow Photomonitor on Instagram and Twitter.

Our first quarterly issue with new features from this UCA Farnham residency is planned for July 2023.
