Westminster School of Arts is seeking a Lecturer in Photography to contribute in support of the BA (Hons) Photography course as well as some contribution to other areas of the portfolio including Foundation level and Masters. These reflect the long traditions of photography at Westminster, and are designed to encourage a balance of creative and critical reflections on visual practice and the social and cultural dimensions of the image. This post is fixed term for a 12 month period, and as such would suit applicants seeking an entry level opportunity in a distinguished subject domain at Westminster. It will enable the development of understanding undergraduate level teaching demands, and should also contribute to the development of the School’s provision. Applications are invited from those with expertise and knowledge in contemporary documentary practices as well as non-lens based imaging experience.
The post holder will be expected to support students at all levels, teaching practical photography skills and the professional craft and creative decision-making involved, as well as evaluating practice in relation to current discourses. You should have an interest in a wide range of photographic technologies and techniques, working with academics and technical staff to support learning at all levels.
