Open Call: Brooks International Fellowship 2027 in Tate Britain Curatorial Division, Leonora Carrington: Art and the Theatre of Life.

Tate welcomes applications for a Fellow to explore the British-Mexican artist Leonora Carrington’s interest in theatre, performance and performativity. The Fellow will undertake foundational research: locating, analysing, and contextualising theatrical materials across archives, manuscripts, correspondence, photographs and ephemera and situating these within Carrington’s transnational career. An international Fellow with knowledge of the Mexican social-political context, culture, and performance histories in the second half of the twentieth century will be particularly well placed to trace how Carrington’s performative work functioned as a vehicle for cross-cultural dialogue, collaboration, and exchange.

The Brooks International Fellowship Programme 2027 is a collaboration between Delfina Foundation and Tate.  Now in its thirteenth year, the programme enables international researchers to work with Tate colleagues for six months in 2027, complemented by activities at Delfina Foundation.

The fellowship will take place from 5 April – 17 September 2027.  To find out more please go to the direct link.
