Open Call for photobook dummies: BOPFOLIO 24

BOPFOLIO is an open call for photobook dummies to be showcased at BOP 24. This opportunity is for early-career stage photographers based in Britain and Ireland. Selected applicants will have their work displayed in the Paintworks Event Space across the BOP 24 festival weekend, in front of 3,000+ visitors and industry experts. BOP – Books on Photography – is the annual photobook festival from Martin Parr Foundation and The Royal Photographic Society, held in Bristol each October.

Twelve selected photographers will have their book dummies showcased, celebrating the photobook as a ‘supreme platform for photographers to disseminate their work to a mass audience.’ – Martin Parr, for Tate.org.uk

BOPFOLIO is launched and supported by Martin Parr Foundation in collaboration with UWE MA Curating course. It is free to submit your work to be considered for BOPFOLIO. Please note, selected photographers will be required to submit a physical book dummy to Martin Parr Foundation ahead of the festival to allow time for curation of BOPFOLIO.

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS
Each selected photographer will have their photobook dummy showcased as a part of the BOPFOLIO exhibition, alongside selected spreads and/or images blown up on the wall in the Paintworks’ Event Space. The photobooks will also be presented on the BOP and MPF websites.

In addition, three applicants – selected by publishers and industry experts partaking in BOP 24 – will be highlighted, including being featured across the BOP and MPF social media channels.
