Oxford Brookes University Lecturer in Photography

Oxford Brookes University are looking to appoint a Lecturer in Photography to contribute primarily to the practice-based modules on their BA Photography programme. The successful applicant will hold a PhD in Photography (or related area), or have equivalent professional experience. You will have experience of teaching at undergraduate level, as well as a network of industry contacts and relevant experience.

You will be a confident and inspiring teacher, with the desire and willingness to contribute to the cultural environment of the School of Arts, and the ability to help increase its industry networks and exposure.

As Lecturer in Photography you will have a significant role in developing the Photography degree programme, which has been created with an informed understanding of where photography is today, and how it is evolving in the 21st century. The teaching focuses on photography as a profession and a visual language appropriate for the creative industries. It aims to develop students’ creative practice, independent voice and personal identity as a photographer within a professional context.

You will be joining a rich and diverse research culture, and will become a member of the School of Art’s cultural research centre, CoRA, which launched in September 2020.

This will be an exciting opportunity for someone looking to progress their academic career in an ambitious, forward-thinking and supportive university department.
