Derby Museums are looking for a friendly and professional freelance photographer to undertake a commission to capture images of our visitors at a variety of events and activities across our museum galleries and sites over the summer. The images should capture the diversity of our visitors and the variety of our events, in particular those aimed at children and families. The images will be stored in our internal image bank for use on our website, social media and marketing materials. The photographer will need to have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to be able to engage with people to ensure they are comfortable to give their permission for their own or their child’s image to be taken and used by Derby Museums in this way. We will provide permission forms which will need to be completed by the people captured in the images and supervision of the photographer whilst on our sites or at our events. Derby Museums will provide the successful photographer with a list of the types of images required and access to Derby Museums’ events and activities. The commission should be completed by 29 September 2017 and should result in a minimum 50 high quality final images suitable for use by Derby Museums for promotional purposes.
The Person:
We are looking for a driven and friendly photographer, ideally with experience in photographing people and someone with the confidence to interact with our visitors in order to capture the best moments. A photography qualification would be ideal but not essential if relevant experience can be shown.
