This role provides a wonderful opportunity to work in the education sector, delivering industry-focused skills and knowledge. Adding to the existing technical team, this role will support both analogue and digital innovation in photography and visual communication. Working within the college technical team and alongside academics the role will be instrumental in developing and improving our students’ ability to successfully understand and challenge the world around us.
The role: You will be part of a technical team supporting photography students and academics across the college, providing guidance and advice, delivering inductions and workshops in darkroom and film processes, studio use and camera and lighting techniques, ensuring students adhere to H&S and best practice. The role also encompasses the maintenance of facilities and equipment.
Your profile:
You will have an art school or photography background with an understanding of educational delivery, the ability to provide expertise and guidance across the range of photographic disciplines both analogue and digital, and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues to ensure students and academics are able to achieve intended learning outcomes through the execution of work. We are looking for a creative, self-motivated person who can also contribute to the strategic technological development of the department.
