Photoworks would like to commission a photographer or lens-based artist at any stage of their career to create a digital seasonal greeting card, to be sent out to mark the beginning of 2021.

The digital greeting card will be a way of marking the change in season. We are looking for an image or artwork which is not a traditional ‘Christmas’ card but which celebrates and marks the new year for everyone. This is a chance to take part in one of our annual commissioning opportunities to submit a playful, seasonal image.

The photograph work will be used as a digital greeting card sent to our mailing lists of artists, curators, photographers and museum professionals consisting of over 19,000 people. It will also be displayed on our social media channels including our curated Instagram channel and Instagram stories, which has over 50,000 followers.

The commissioning fee for the project is £500. We would also like to invite you to take over our Instagram for one week in 2021 as part of the commission.

Please send us either a link to your website, Instagram feed or images from your portfolio if you have one, to allow us to see how your visuals look ahead of commissioning the successful artist. We expect the artist to spend one day shooting/making for this fee and ideally we seek new work but this is not at all mandatory.
