Northern Print is offering bursaries for three young artists, with opportunities to explore, challenge and share ideas about print with other early-stage professionals and the Northern Print team.
Each recipient will be provided with access to Northern Printʼs studio facilities in Ouseburn Valley, Newcastle upon Tyne, and the materials and tailored technical support needed for them to develop skills and explore print as the focus of their work.
The support includes:
- Intensive induction week with time to connect with the other bursary artists.
- Free access to Northern Printʼs professional printmaking facilities up to 35 days including technical support from our studio staff.
- Materials budget (up to £500).
- Opportunity to exhibit work produced in Northern Printʼs gallery or present online.
- A small budget to support access needs or travel expenses.
The bursaries are designed to be as flexible as possible with scope for each artist to plan their own programme of work, goals, and timetable. For example, artists can choose to work intensively for a shorter period of time or spread their time in the studio over a number of months. There are facilities for traditional printmaking as well as some digital processes.
The funding secured is to support artists under the age of 30 and bursaries must be completed by 31 March 2027.
