Radical Body Arts DDD Support Grant

This micro-grant is for UK based disabled creatives who are currently facing barriers in their career due to financial hardship.

It’s an emergency response to the results of Radical Body Arts’ Disability Data Drive, which showed that disabled creatives are disproportionately likely to leave the arts sector due to financial pressures.

Radical Body Arts hope this grant might provide some breathing space for creatives by giving them some extra resources to focus on career development. The grant can be spent on anything you feel might help you maintain or progress your career in the arts.

You might use this grant for things like:

  • Paying yourself for a few days working on something creative
  • Making equipment purchases to facilitate creative ideas
  • Funding a research trip to a theatre, gallery, or performance
  • Covering access costs to engage in creative activity that you otherwise could not afford

The grant is flexible and isn’t restricted to one purpose, so you can use it for several different things if that would feel helpful to you.

Radical Body Arts are offering 7 micro-grants. Each recipient will be awarded £500 to be used flexibly, in addition to a £200 equipment budget, and a £200 access budget. They are offering a dedicated equipment budget to help artists who struggle to access resources like recording or art studios, rehearsal spaces, or specialist equipment to create more suitable work environments in their homes.

A creative output from this grant is not required (although if you make one, RBA would love to see it). All that is expected from recipients is a timely invoice for the full cost of the grant, and a short testimonial about its impact.
