Senior Lecturer in Photography (0.5 full-time equivalent)

Are you a practice-focused academic with experience of photography within commercial and creative industries? If so, bring your expertise to teach students at all levels of the BA (Hons) Photography course at the University of Brighton. You will have a strong background in undergraduate teaching, and a substantial research portfolio. Knowledge of Academic Health processes is required, as is the ability to work as part of a team to pressing deadlines.

Core elements of the role include:

To expand the teaching expertise in several areas of photography.
To design and deliver teaching on a range of theory and practice modules within the BA (Hons) Photography course.
To be able to transmit key skills and knowledge of industry practice to a diverse student cohort.
To foster new relationships with commercial and cultural institutions that will enhance student opportunities.
To teach technical aspects of photographic production and relevant technology.
To foster organisational skills around course management and curriculum delivery,
To nurture creativity and artistic flair in our student community.
To contribute to the creative vision of the course and the team.

You will join the School of Media’s Sound Image & Screen programme at the Edward Street campus. In a city rich in creative and digital enterprise, the School has built a strong set of pedagogic and enterprise relationships with key media and arts organisations, including Brighton PhotoBiennial, Brighton Digital Festival, Screen Archive South East and the Brighton Film Festival “CineCity”.
