Senior Lecturer in Photography

UWE’s Faculty of Arts, Creative Industries and Education has a strong reputation for highly successful practice-based, professionally-focused UG and PG programmes, run in conjunction with outstanding partners, such as the BBC, Aardman Animations and the Martin Parr Foundation.

Working in the Department of Film and Journalism, comprising of Photography, Animation, Filmmaking, Drama and Journalism, these posts based in the Lens and Moving Image Field, focus on teaching and supporting students on BA and MA Photography. They offer the opportunity to be part of a vibrant and collaborative teaching and management team that deliver these highly successful programmes at the forefront of photography activity, regionally, nationally and beyond.

UWE are looking for a photography academic with impressive research and practice credentials and experience of undergraduate and/or postgraduate delivery. You will be able to bring to life the debates and discourses around contemporary photography and inspire our students to refine and target their image-making potential. You will have excellent professional and/or commercial networks to help our students explore a range of professional environments and develop successful careers. You will bring vision and added value to our distinctive approach to developing ‘artists with savvy’, contributing to the research activity and culture of our programmes as well as the Department and the University at large.
