The beluga sturgeon (Huso huso) in the pond of the Ramsar Museum. In the past, the Caspian Sea was the world's most important source of sturgeon, but today many sturgeon species are listed as endangered. Due to overfishing, illegal caviar trade, pollution, and dam construction, their populations have drastically declined.
