The Women in Photography (WIPNYC) Grant & Mentor Program

The Women in Photography (WIPNYC) Grant & Mentor Program will provide one female photographer/photo-based artist with a $5000 grant to produce work in addition to being paired with four mentors over the course of a year.* The selected artist will also receive a solo show on

Emma Bowkett Director of Photography at the Financial Times FT Weekend Magazine
Karen Irvine Curator & Associate Director of the Museum of Contemporary Photography at Columbia College
Susan Bright Curator & Writer
Whitney Hubbs Artist, Assistant Professor at Alfred University

Eligibility: Open to women artists (cisgender and transgender) both U.S. and International. Please note that you must be at least 18 years old to apply and that currently matriculated students are ineligible.

Fee: There is no fee to apply.

Judges: The 2017 Women in Photography (WIPNYC) Grant & Mentor Program recipient will be selected by Women in Photography (WIPNYC) founders Amy Elkins and Cara Phillips.

Women in Photography is a fiscally sponsored project of Brooklyn Arts Council

*Year-long mentorship will consist of a series of six, one-hour Skype or Google Hangout sessions with each mentor – for a total of 24 hours of mentorship over the course of a year.
