Tutor (Art and Design) Kaplan International Pathways

At Kaplan International College London, they prepare international students for undergraduate and post-graduate degrees at a number of top UK universities; this means supporting students through the academic and social transition needed to meet the demands of university life and are passionately committed to helping them succeed. Following a recent major refurbishment project, KICL offers student a beautiful, state-of-the-art study environment, a stone’s throw from Borough Market, with a range of learning spaces which encourage both collaboration and independence.

KICL are now looking to appoint a Tutor in Art & Design. The Art & Design Foundation is a new programme for the college so the role would suit someone who is excited about establishing a new venture. You will help liaise with the university, be familiar with the facilities there (or will work very hard to get to know them), and will work hard to make the programme a success. You will also liaise with other Kaplan Pathway colleges where the Art & Design Foundation Certificate is offered, including University of Brighton International College, and Nottingham Trent International College.

To be considered for the role, you’ll need to be a generalist. The portfolio module is mostly taught to all students, whether they’re aiming for fashion, art, photography, architecture etc. There will be some specialist work, especially towards the end of the programme, but it is essential that you are comfortable teaching across a range of areas, with the ability to teach in the following areas: Visual Culture, Contemporary Art in Culture, & Art, Design & Media.
