The Postcards: Images and Whispers Open Call is inspired by the gesture of the postcard — an image sent across distance, carrying a personal trace or “voice.”

Participants are invited to submit a photograph (jpg file) and a postcard back (word file for text, or jpg of drawing or handwritten message – text, or blank). Each selected photograph will be shown together with the idea of its reverse side: a space where a message in whatever form and the name (or alias) of a recipient could appear.

Including a written message (in any language) is optional. Silence, absence, or leaving the space blank are equally welcome choices.

By bringing together image and text — or image and drawing, or image and “silence” — a dialogue emerges about communication, distance, memory, and the human need to share moments and emotions.
