The theme of the 22nd edition of Photaumnales is ‘Habitat’. ‘Habitat/home’ is much more than just residing or staying somewhere: it means investing in a space of meaning, memory and connection. Through their perspectives on architecture, heritage and buildings, the artists invited to this 22nd edition of Les Photaumnales explore what makes a ‘home’: a physical place, of course, but also a symbolic, sometimes mystical territory, an emotional and identity anchor. The focus here is on the complexity of housing, between family heritage, shifting identities and social conditions. From the intimate to the collective, from ruins to homes, the images presented resonate with us as they do with our roots, our sense of belonging and our way of inhabiting the world — or allowing ourselves to be inhabited by it.
The festival takes place across the Hauts-de-France region, with more than 25 exhibitions related to architecture and buildings with indoor and outdoor exhibitions. To find out more please go to the direct link.
