In celebration of International Women’s Day, Photo London are delighted to present their magazine’s special issue dedicated to Helen Sear. Her practice focuses on the co-existence of human, animal, and natural environments and is rooted in an interest in Magic Realism, Surrealism and Conceptual Art.
In 2015, Sear was the first woman to represent Wales at the Venice with her suite of 5 new works titled ‘…The rest is smoke’. Recently, Sear was voted one of the key 100 women photographers practising globally by Hundred Heroines. This independent charity founded by Del Barret during her time at the Royal Photographic Society empowers and celebrates past, present and future women photographers.
Realised in collaboration with Hundred Heroines, this issue features a selection of artworks and an exclusive interview between Sear and the charity.
