South Caucasus Moving Museum of Photography in Yerevan, Armenia

For its first regional event of South Caucasus Moving Museum of Photography that will take place on Wednesday, December 5th in Yerevan, Tbilisi Photography & Multimedia Museum partners with AGBU Armenia and 4plus agency.

A collection of slideshows by contemporary Georgian, regional and international photographers will be screened in the program of the Moving Museum of Photography event in Yerevan.

The screening will be followed by a public talk on the project Photography Hub for Education and Innovation (PHEI) and photographic traditions in the whole region of the South Caucasus.

The creation of South Caucasian Moving Museum of Photography has been inspired by the Caucasian Moving Museum – the invention of Alexandre Roinashvili who is considered as a pioneer of photography in Georgia and South Caucasus. In the 2nd half of 19th century the moving museum of Al. Roinashvili was aiming to feature in different cities all over Georgia and Russia the reach collection of pieces gathered by Al. Roinashvili in the museum. In the 2nd decade of 21st century, the South Caucasian Moving Museum of Photography will provide the travelling screenings in Armenia, Azerbaijan and 9 different regions of Georgia.
