In this talk Marta Gili looks at the work of women photographers of the first half of the twentieth century – women who opted for taking a poetic and political look both at themselves and others. Marta Gili is Director of the Galerie nationale du Jeu de Paume in Paris, centre for modern and contemporary photography and media. Under her directorship, the centre has shown the works of Eva Besnyö, Lee Miller, Lisette Model, Berenice Abbott, Laure Albin Guillot, Germaine Krull, Valérie Jouve and many other women photographers.
