Anna Fox remembers: “I first met Nona Faustine when she showed me her initial photographs for the series “White Shoes” while she was studying at ICP. I was astonished by this brave, visually compelling and important work”.
Later, Fast Forward remembers the wonderful energy Nona contributed when she joined us for our research workshop on women in photography at Dillon+Lee gallery in New York in 2017. She spoke passionately about her work and the journey she had been on to get to where she was, we thoroughly admired her and her work and loved her warm company.
We truly believe that Nona’s work and legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
The photo of Nona was taken by Maria Kapajeva at the research workshop in 2017.
