UCA Women in Photo at the Photography Show in Birmingham this weekend

The Photography Show open now is the UK’s largest event dedicated to photography, it offers a great opportunity for you to try (and buy!) some of the latest kit, get advice and inspiration from some of the best in the business and meet potential business partners.

Pro Day is on Monday, 21 March and in the Behind the Lens Theatre at 13:00, the University for the Creative Arts will lead a panel discussion, ‘Women in Photography: Field work’.

Anna Fox, Natasha Caruana, Vicki Churchill, Juno Calypso, Marcia Michael and Max Houghton will take to the stage to talk about the ways in which women should network and share to promote their work, how to engage and get ahead across multiple fields, and whether or not breaking the ‘glass ceiling’ is still relevant.

This session will be followed by a networking hour in the Bowens Lounge where discussions can continue over a mocktail or two.

Women in Photo also has a stand exhibiting work by staff and students at B96

Also on the Pro Day programme:

Pro Conference: The opportunity to brush up on business know-how and build skills in a commercial capacity.

Live Debates: Professional Photography magazine brings its monthly debates to the show – any pro can listen to these frank and sometimes controversial conversations.

10 Mega Mess-ups: Pro networking from 18:00 in the Toute Suite, featuring 10 guest speakers telling all about the mistakes they’ve made and what they’ve learnt from them.
